ECHO

Specific Need

ECHO's greatest need is continued financial support to provide high quality programs to adults with disabilities. The generous contributions will also help fund one of ECHO's new initiatives of creating the ECHO Training Academy.  The ECHO Training Academy will consist of a core curriculum which include corses such as social skills, money management, office management, packaging, retail and many other courses.

Mission

ECHO'S mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social and economic success.

Profile

For 43 years, ECHO, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, has empowered individuals with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social and economic success.  At ECHO a variety of programs are offered to adults with disabilities in our community.

ECHO offers two day support programs called LIFE and Medically Fragile.  In LIFE the program participants learn valuable life skills as well as skills which could allow them to transition to employment opportunities in the community.  In the Medically Fragile program the participants are supported by our trained staff to meet their medical needs.  These participants also go on outings in the community.

Another program ECHO offers is Group Supported Employment.  On a daily basis the program participants go to job sites in the community to work with the support of employment services supervisor.  ECHO also provides transportation to/from the homes of the program participants to their day support program or to their work site for the day.

Transportation is a large barrier many individuals with disabilities face and with ECHO's extensive fleet our program participants overcome this barrier.

Another exciting initiative ECHO is launching  in the near future is creating the ECHO Training Academy. The academy will consist of a core curriculum which will include courses such as social skills, money management, office management, packaging, retail and additional valuable courses.

Between fiscal year 2015 to 2017 the number of participants served has grown 21% to 178.  By June 30, 2018 ECHO is planning on bringing in additional 14 participants.  Funding is critical to support the growth in our programs.
