Heeling House, Inc.

Goal: $20,000.00

Specific Need

With the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to stop our in-person services for the safety of everyone. We sincerely miss providing animal assisted interactions in various schools, libraries, therapy centers, hospitals, as well as our center. However, during this time we've implemented free, virtual opportunities to stay connected with our community.

Any donations made will go directly towards supporting our programs once this crisis has passed so that we can continue where we left off and provide invaluable services to once again help our community through animal-assisted therapy.

Mission

Heeling House Inc. is a 501(c)3 non profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children with special needs through the use of Animal Assisted Interactions.

Profile

Heeling House has a profoundly positive impact on the lives of thousands of local families each year. During our first full year of operation in 2015, Heeling House had 8 Therapy Animal Teams that volunteered 280 hours of service, and visited over 550 clients. We have now increased our Therapy Animal Teams to over 30. We were able to provide over 3000 hours of service in 2019, and provided Animal Assisted Interactions for over 5000 clients. We have educated and inspired countless school aged children, given over 70 teens a safe place to learn, bond, and be supported, provided an outlet for 55 volunteers to share their time and talent with our community, helped over 200 students train their dogs to work towards becoming therapy animals, helped find homes for 60 rescue dogs, trained and placed 7 working service dogs, and most importantly, brought hope and positivity back into the lives of so many families that so desperately needed it.
