Heeling House, Inc.

Specific Need

Over the past decade, Heeling House has been profoundly impacting the lives of countless children and their families within our community. Our therapy dogs are actively engaged in various settings, spanning from local schools – including elementary, middle, and high schools – to colleges, hospitals, therapeutic centers, libraries, and even scouting meetings. Additionally, they play a crucial role in our in-house programs like PACK and kid night.

Similarly, our service puppies are diligently honing their skills within the community before being placed with a child in need of their life changing services. From participating in our Junior Trainer summer camp, where they assist children in learning how to train and care for their canine companions, to their recent involvement in the CHANCE program at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, our service puppies are making a tangible difference in various facets of our community.

However, to continue offering our vital services, we rely on the generous support of donors like you.

One of the unique aspects of our organization is our commitment to making our services accessible to as many families as possible. We provide our services at a 60-70% discount to our clients, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder access to the life-changing benefits of animal-assisted interactions. However, this means that we heavily depend on donations to bridge the gap and cover the costs associated with our programs.

Your donation will directly contribute to various essential needs, including:

  1. Healthcare and Preventative Medicine: Ensuring that our service dogs receive the necessary medical care and preventative treatments to maintain their well-being.
  2. Veterinary Care: Covering the costs of veterinary visits, treatments, and any unexpected medical expenses that may arise.
  3. Equipment: Providing the necessary tools and equipment for training, handling, and caring for our service dogs.
  4. Training: Supporting ongoing training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of our service and therapy dogs, ensuring they can effectively support children with diverse needs.
  5. Housing and Care: Maintaining suitable living environments and providing daily care for our service dogs, including food, shelter, and enrichment activities.

Your generosity will directly impact the lives of children with special needs, empowering them to overcome challenges, build essential skills, and thrive in their communities. We invite you to join us in making a difference by supporting Heeling House today.

Mission

Heeling House Inc. is a 501(c)3 non profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children with special needs through the use of Animal Assisted Interactions.

Profile

Heeling House, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs through Animal Assisted Interactions. Since our founding in 2014, we have witnessed the transformative power of the bond between children and animals firsthand.

At Heeling House, we firmly believe in the healing potential of this unique connection. Our therapy and service dogs play a vital role in facilitating developmental progress for children facing various challenges. From helping developmentally delayed children take their first steps to giving young adults the confidence to integrate into their communities, our furry companions have been instrumental in supporting children to reach their full potential.

The impact of our programs extends far beyond simple companionship. Our therapy dogs serve as role models for good behavior, confidence builders, and even as peers in interactive games and projects. Through interactive play and structured therapy sessions with our animals, children develop essential skills such as sharing, taking turns, maintaining personal space, and problem-solving. Moreover, by learning to communicate and interact with our therapy animals, children also enhance their social and emotional skills, including initiating conversations, reading nonverbal cues, and showing empathy.

Research has consistently shown that animal-assisted therapy produces significant results, often surpassing those achieved through traditional therapies alone. Children are more motivated and engaged in their sessions when animals are involved, leading to more effective outcomes.

However, to continue our mission and expand our reach, we rely heavily on the generosity of supporters like you. Your donations directly contribute to maintaining our programs, caring for our therapy animals, and ensuring that every child in need has access to the life-changing benefits of Animal Assisted Interactions.

We invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us continue our vital work and bring smiles, progress, and hope to those who need it most.

Thank you for considering supporting Heeling House, Inc. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these incredible children.
