Humane Farm Animal Care d/b/a Certified Humane

Specific Need

We are hoping for funds to help offset the cost of farm inspections.  We conduct annual inspections that are very educational for the farmer; the inspectors we send have advanced degrees in animal science and a great deal of knowledge and experience in animal welfare and agriculture.  So, the farmers seeking certfication on our program generally pay less than half (about $700) of the actual cost of the annual inspection which averages $1500.  If the farming is operation is very small, our organization covers the costs entirely.  So we need the support of people like you intersted in supporting and preserving local agriculture.

Mission

Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) is the leading non-profit certification organization dedicated to improving the lives of farm animals in food production from birth through slaughter.

The goal of the program is to improve the lives of farm animals by driving consumer demand for kinder and more responsible farm animal practices.
