Loudoun Free Clinic

Goal: $10,000.00

Specific Need

Your loving gift...gives the gift of life! Loudoun Free Clinic is proud to celebrate 20 years of providing quality, free healthcare to uninsured residents of Loudoun County 200% below the FPL. Included in this care are medications.

Most of our patients have several chronic diseases – diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, asthma, depression – and are seen on average 7 times per year. Medications are a large part of our treatment plan and are provided free of charge. In 2016, we filled 3,500 prescriptions. In 2017 it was 6,500 prescriptions and in 2018 it almost doubled again to 12,900. This year, the increased cost of filling these prescriptions will blow an estimated $10,000 hole in our budget. Our patients need these medications and the costs continue to increase. Please HELP.

Here are just a few examples of how your generous donation will help Loudoun Free Clinic serve the most vulnerable patients in our county:

Medications to Treat Diabetes:
$50 donation provides a one year supply of diabetic medication for one patient

$750 donation provides a one year supply of diabetic medication for 15 patients

Medications to Treat Hypertension:

$250 donation provides a one year supply of anti-hypertensive medication for 8 patients

$1,000 donation provides a one year supply of anti-hypertensive medication for 32 patients

Medications to treat High Cholesterol:

$100 donation provides a one year supply of anti-hyperlipidemia medication for one patient

$500 donation provides a one year supply of anti-hyperlipidemia medication for 5 patients

We are grateful for your partnership.  Thank you for your support and generosity!

Mission

Loudoun Free Clinic provides high-quality medical care to low-income, uninsured adults in Loudoun County, who as a result of economic or other barriers, would otherwise do without. For every $1 donated, $8 in care is given. Your support saves lives!

Our History

1999 - The Loudoun Free Clinic (LFC) was founded to provide free medical care to low-income, uninsured adults in the County.  Loudoun County Health Department initially provided us with space to hold a general medical clinic one night a week.

2002 - We opened the doors of our new home:  2,800 square feet of space donated by Inova Loudoun Hospital.  We had just one paid staff member and a committed group of volunteers.  This small, dedicated group provided health care services to an average of 21 patients per week on a first-come, first-served basis.

TODAY - LFC is an established and respected partner in the community as a safety net provider.  We have an outstanding staff of 15 employees and a dedicated group of 120 volunteers who provide care to more than 850 patients.  In 2018, our volunteers dedicated 8,500 hours valued at $326,000.

We have improved the health and lives of thousands of people since 1999 by providing top quality, compassionate medical care.  In order to qualify, a patient must be uninsured, have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and be a resident of Loudoun County.

Profile

Our Work

We are so excited to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year! Since 1999, the Loudoun Free Clinic has cared for thousands of people struggling with emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions. We ensure all treatments, including medication, are provided at no cost to our patients.

We are funded entirely by grants and donations and supported by a network of community organizations as well as a loving and dedicated group of volunteers who staff our daytime and evening clinics to meet this critical need in our community.

Our Commitment

We are committed to making sure that no one in our community goes without medical care, and we have been opening our doors to more people than ever before.  In 2018, we provided care to 826 patients in 6,324 medical visits and we provided 12,907 prescriptions.  Through the tremendous support of our community, we are able to provide $8 worth of medical services for every $1 donated.  But what we offer goes beyond medical care.

Many of our patients come to us under the most difficult of circumstances, when they are sick and struggling, and when they have lost their ability to provide for their families, let alone their most basic health care needs.  LFC offers expert medical care and something that cannot be measured - caring support, and a community to which they can turn.  We also offer hope for their future!
