Mobile Hope

Specific Need

Mobile Hope would like to use this powerful day of giving to ask for your support of our crisis care program for homless youth. Each day, young adults walk through our doors (last Friday, it was 57) —broken, powerless, discouraged and afraid.  Many have been abused, trafficked, rejected or cast aside. Mobile Hope—powered by you, our hero of hope—is their beacon. As we feed, clothe, shelter, love and empower these young people, we will help them move from a place of darkness to a place of hope.

Your financial donation ensures our boys, girls, teens and young adults and pregnant young women are provided emergency shelter, clean clothes, hot meals, and empowering life skills. It ensures they have a place to go and people to talk to when progress isn’t a straight line. It means they have a place where they are accepted and seen as worthy—simply because they are human. Where they are accepted and loved even if they aren’t perfect and have made mistakes along the way. Where their value as people is not impacted by the mistakes they have made. Where they are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of IQ, skin color, ability or religion. Where we expect from them because we believe in them. Where we are real, and they can be, too. Where we believe—deeply—their future can be better than their past.

Your gift will help us serve every young person who walks through our door and needs a safe place for the night—or the week—until we can help them find a place to call home. When our kids have a safe place to lay their head and put the day to rest—change begins to happen. Old patterns give way to new. Toxic family patterns are broken. Lives are restored. Healing happens.

We are committed to ending youth homelessness, and with your help, we are a step closer to this vision. Mobile Hope’s growth is fueled by you, and we are honored and deeply appreciative of your financial support. You make our life-changing work possible. To see the impact of your gift, we invite you in for a tour and to meet our kids....reach out to getinvolved@mobile-hope.org.

Mission

We believe every young person deserves a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to become self-sufficient.

Mobile Hope’s mission is to improve the lives of young people, 24 years old or younger, who are homeless, precariously housed, or marginalized. We believe all children should grow up in a safe environment with acess to basic needs. Mobile Hope utilizes The Full Frame Initiative and the Five Domains of Well-Being to guide our work, understanding the importance of stability, safety, meaningful access to relevant resources, mastery and social connectedness.

Profile

Homelessness is seen on the face of a young person with a heartbreaking story– a teenage boy abused by an alcoholic parent, a pregnant girl rejected by her guardian, a young person with a disability, or a teenager trying to escape gang membership or trafficking. Mobile Hope works to get youth off the streets through our emergency shelter program, and provides intensive case management and community to improve well-being and become a self-sufficient and productive member of our community.

According to a 2017 study conducted by Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago entitled, “Voices of Youth Count”, “adolescents and young adults represent a key developmental window. Every day of housing instability represents missed opportunities to support healthy development and transitions to productive adulthood.” Mobile Hope is the only organization in Loudoun County that supports homeless youth.

Mobile Hope is an innovative organization that is committed to advocating for these young people and employing evidence-based solutions to improve the lives of homeless youth. Our supporters have a remarkable opportunity to join us in addressing and ending youth homelessness in Loudoun County.
