Project Horse Empowerment Center

Your donation will be matched, up to the first $4,000 donated to Project Horse, letting you have double the positive impact on our community!

 

A donation of any size can help so much! Here's a variety of things donations can help cover:

 

$85 enables 1 at-risk teen to improve self-confidence, deal with negative feelings and connect with others in our Teen Empowerment workshop

 

$98 funds the nutritional needs of 1 horse for a week (grain, hay and supplements)

 

$155 covers the cost for the Mobile Minis™ Team to lead the Autism Awareness Walk

 

$180 funds a Warrior Herd™ Family Session, helping veterans and family members strengthen their relationships, enhance resiliency, and promote Post Traumatic Growth

 

$250 provides life-saving help to teens who are self-harming or experiencing suicidal ideation through our REACH program (Rapidly Engaging Adolescents in Crisis with Horses)

 

$310 covers 3 participants in Strides in Recovery, a support program for adults in recovery from substance or alcohol abuse

 

$580 pays the cost of 1 visit for farrier care for our horses' feet

 

$900 makes it possible for 2 children to attend our Warrior Herd™ Summer Camp for Children of Fallen Heroes

 

$1,800 provides 8 sessions of individual therapy for a veteran suffering from Post Traumatic Stress

 

$2,250 covers the cost of 5 Mobile Minis™ school enrichment visits to support special needs students

 

$4,000 supplies high quality winter hay for our herd

Mission

The Project Horse Empowerment Center provides hope, confidence, resiliency and healing to at-risk children, teens and adults through wellness and therapy services provided in partnership with rehabilitated rescue horses.

 

We specialize in helping individuals who struggle in traditional learning and therapy environments, by providing unique opportunities for growth and healing to the most vulnerable members of our community, regardless of emotional, cognitive or behavioral challenges.

Profile

For over a decade, Project Horse Empowerment Center has been providing therapy and wellness services to individuals of all ages in the community. Each year, through our unique equine-assisted programs, we positively impact the lives of hundreds of people in Loudoun.

 

Here are our primary therapy and wellness programs:

  • REACH teen suicide crisis intervention
  • Strides in Recovery (supporting adults in recovery from substance or alcohol abuse)
  • Warrior Herd therapy, wellness and recreation services for veterans and their family members
  • Mobile Minis community outreach & enrichment
  • Teen Empowerment crisis prevention workshops for de-stressing teens
  • Horse Budz crisis prevention & self-esteem building workshops for preteen children
