The Middleburg Museum Foundation

Specific Need

The Middleburg Museum is moving forward at a fast pace and we need your help! The history of Middleburg is a rich and fascinating one and here at the Middleburg Museum Foundation we are dedicated to preserving that history. We need your contribution to help us build the museum to house all of the amazing artifacts that tell the story of our town. The museum ensures to be a community organization that will promote educational programs, events centered around our past and support for the local area. Please help us move this much needed project forward. We can do this together to build a museum you are proud of for generations to come. Thank you!

The Middleburg Museum Foundation was created for the purpose of recording, preserving and sharing with residents and visitors the rich history of Middleburg, VA, from its founding to the present time and beyond. The Foundation strives to:

  • Enhance the public’s knowledge of Middleburg’s important role in our nation’s history, from Levin Powell to John Mosby to the Kennedys and beyond. This is intended to present the full history of Middleburg, in a multi-cultural manner.

  • Preserve historical artifacts related to the history of Middleburg and create more interest in historic preservation as it applies to Middleburg and its surrounding areas.

  • Provide a source of information for visitors to Middleburg who want to know more about its history, architecture and people.

The Middleburg Museum has been a long time dream of local resident Eura Lewis. She imagined a museum that would tell Middleburg's rich history, in all it's variety and drama. Through a generous gift from Middleburg philanthropist Dr. Betsee Parker, the Middleburg Museum Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, has been able to purchase the historic Pink Box Visitors Center and property. The new museum will be built on this property, adjacent to the Pink Box, and will serve both residents and visitors for generations to come.

The Foundation is governed by a board of directors who live and work in this historic village.
