Meridians Recovery

Goal: $30,000.00

Specific Need

Our Meridians Recovery fundraising goals are as follows. On the morning of September (Recovery Month) 28, 2019, we plan to hold a 5k 10K Run/Family Walk at Algonkian Regional Park. At 5:30 we will hold a Banquet Gala at Landsdown Resort featuring speakers from around the state, like Jennifer Wexton and directors of government agencies. On September 29, 2019, we will hold a 100 person golf tournament with a lavish reception and podium event. Our expected costs for these 3 events is $45,000. We are looking to bring in $120,000 which will open, fund, and augment expenses at the women's house for 2 years, provide drug court scholarships, and provide expenses for next years fundraiser. Your help is critical in filling this void in our area as there is no women's recovery homes within 20 miles.

Our mission is to help as many alcoholics and addicts as we can to develop a recovery lifestyle through our Peer Based Recovery Support Service structure. We use a sober living program to sustain a safe environment with like minded house brothers. There is a residential program to immerse new people and jump start their recovery. Our enhanced program is a supported dual diagnosis sober living program to help those families that are struggling to maintain stability while fostering healthy changes.  We are fully self-supporting  without government assistance or insurance considerations.

Meridians Recovery uses evidence based practices rooted in neuroscience research combined with social learning theory and the local recovery community to offer a healing place for those people that are desirous to begin a new pathway in recovery. Our approach blends the best of science and 12 step recovery and fills the gap between treatment and the environments addicts are used to.

The Commonwealth of Virginia faces a public health emergency prompted by the explosive expansion of the national opioid crisis. Locally, Loudoun County also has one of the highest alcohol-related fatality rates in the state. The expansion of Meridians Recovery PBRSS Programs is meant to coincide with the launch of the Loudoun County Drug Court in 2019. Meridians Recovery and the Loudoun County Drug Court share a common mission and approach to treating addiction, emphasizing accountability and living in community to promote successful recovery outcomes. As Loudoun County’s only non-profit PBRSS Program, Meridians Recovery is primed to expand its operations to support the Drug Court’s efforts. With monitoring through the court system and our PBRSS model, we leverage social learning theory in peer association and provide clients with a safe, supportive living environment. In contrast to incarceration and traditional sober living homes, this approach drastically increases the opportunity for successful recovery outcomes and reduces the costs associated with rehabilitation.
