Specific Need
Dominion Equine Welfare provides full time care for horses in our program, to include a horse in Purcellville, VA. Age and a recent diagnosis has increased this horse's care needs, and some additional funding is needed to help offset those expenses. We have also received referrals to individual horse owners in Loudoun County who need short-term assistance with hay, feed and veterinary expenses.Mission
The mission of Dominion Equine Welfare – an all-volunteer organization - is to ensure the welfare of equine, both domestic and wild, through direct action, education, advocacy and strategic collaboration.Profile
Dominion Equine Welfare's goals include:
- Provide for equine under our direct care
- Education through community events
- Find solutions for at-risk equines
- Promote responsible horse ownership, from birth to death
- Provide support (hay, feed, veterinary, farrier, euthanasia) to individual horse owners in the Commonwealth of Virginia who are navagating a short-term hardship.
- Collaboration with other equine organizations in the Commonwealth to help as many horses as possible through combined efforts
