Goal: $12,000.00
Specific Need
The classroom grants program encourages school-based educators across all grade levels and subjects to submit creative project proposals that enhance student learning. Due to increasing demand and limited funding, many teachers must either self-finance their projects or abandon them. Last school year, LEF received 165 applications and funded 82 projects, averaging just over $1,000 each. The Fall 2025 cycle alone saw 133 new applications, underscoring the ongoing need for support.
Our goal is to grow this fund so more teachers will be awarded grants for their creative, innovative and impactful ideas for their students to engage and learn in an innovative way.
Mission
The Loudoun Education Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that engages our community to invest in critical and innovative programs to foster the academic success and well-being of students and teachers in Loudoun County Public Schools.
Profile
More about the Loudoun Education Foundation:
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) serves over 82,000 students and, for more than 34 years, those students have benefitted from a unique public-private partnership. While our local county provides public funding to run our schools, the Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) invites private funding that is used to pilot new programs and respond to new opportunities or challenges. By its very nature, private funding allows our public schools to be nimble in their response to the changing needs of the students they serve.
The Loudoun Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to engage the community in support of our public school students and educators. LEF is an independent, accountable organization governed by our own Board of Trustees that sets policy and maintains sound fiscal management. The Loudoun Education Foundation invites support in these four priority areas:
STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLBEING
We invest in “wrap around” services supporting the whole child and their families to ensure our most vulnerable students are successful.
TEACHER DEVELOPMENT & ENCOURAGEMENT
We invest in programs that provide training, mentoring and appreciation for our teachers. We also fund innovative teaching strategies to enrich learning in all schools.
SCHOLARSHIPS
We provide multiple awards to teachers, staff and students each year through 6 different scholarship programs.
CURRICULUM ENRICHMENT
We stimulate our students’ curiosity, create exceptional learning opportunities, and provide resources that help students reach their full potential and develop our future workforce.
