Vine and Fig Tree

Goal: $4,000.00

Specific Need

Vine & Fig Tree is asking for $4,000 to cover the cost of our monthly events serving the foster teens of Loudoun County in partnership directly with Loudoun County Department of Health & Human Services / Independent Living Program. The cost will cover 7 of our yearly events, including:

Escape Room
Pottery Making
Beginning of Summer Pool Party
End of Summer Pool Party
Educational Sessions on Social Media
Paintball
End of Year Bonfire / Holiday Event

All Loudoun County foster teens, and foster youth who have aged-out, are welcome at these events which help to foster community, cultivate meaningful experiences for every individual we serve, and make a positive impact in the lives of Loudoun County foster youth and young adults. Our work with Loudoun County's Department of Family Services allows us to bring joy, enrichment, and a sense of community to these deserving young individuals.

Additionally, any extra funds raised will go directly into our Emergency Fund which is used for emergent needs of the youth we serve. In 2023 we were able to provide housing and rental assistance to prevent youth from eviction, transportation and car repair so youth could get back to work, furniture, food, and Christmas gifts for youth and their families.

Mission

Vine & Fig Tree seeks to heal social and economic inequalities. Through supporting community programs, training the unemployed and underemployed in job readiness, and consulting with companies, Vine & Fig seeks to bring Equity, Belonging, and Community to all workplaces.

These events are made possible through collaboration with our dedicated partners within the Loudoun County Department of Family Services and the foster teens’ case managers. Together, we aim to promote a sense of community, expose them to new and enriching experiences, and ultimately make a positive impact on their lives.
