Specific Need

Funding support through the Give Choose campaign will be designated exclusively for INOVA Loudoun Hospital, ensuring that families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss at this hospital receive immediate, trauma-informed bereavement support. Funds will be used to provide Aaliyah in Action bereavement support packages directly to Inova Loudoun Hospital for distribution to families at the time of loss.

Mission

Aaliyah in Action provides trauma-informed bereavement support packages to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss, partnering with hospitals to ensure compassionate, immediate support during one of the most vulnerable moments of care. Our packages include self-care items for women/ birthing parents, books for partners, and age-appropriate children’s books for living siblings.

Pregnancy and infant loss impacts families across all communities, yet bereavement care following loss remains inconsistent and often inadequate. Families frequently leave the hospital without tangible support, guidance, or acknowledgment of their grief. By partnering directly with hospitals like INOVA Loudoun, Aaliyah in Action helps fill this critical gap in care. Our bereavement support packages are designed to support the emotional and mental well-being of the entire family unit at the point of loss—when support matters most.
